Bolzano, Aug. 5, 2020Interpoma 2020, the international fair dedicated to the world of apples, is changing its look this year to become Interpoma Connects 2020: Digital Days for the Apple Economy. This year’s edition under the new hybrid format will be held on Nov. 19 and 20 and consist of a variety of online and offline events and webinars held over the two days, including a revised version of the traditional Interpoma Congress that will be available to both online and in-person attendees; the Interpoma Future Hub, a digital platform for the promotion of international startups and scaleups; and the new Interpoma Business Match, a virtual matchmaking platform for companies and customers run in collaboration with the Enterprise Europe Network and the Bolzano Chamber of Commerce. The traditional fair with its numerous exhibits is scheduled to return next year on Nov. 4–6, 2021.

Over the last several years, Fiera Bolzano, with the support of its customers and partners, has invested a great deal in the internationalization of Interpoma, with the 2018 edition attracting 20,000 visitors from 74 countries and 460 exhibitors from 24 countries. It is under this background that the Board of Directors of Fiera Bolzano took the decision to move to the hybrid format for the 2020 edition and postpone the traditional fair to 2021, so as not to compromise the important international nature of Interpoma in the face of current international travel restrictions.

According to Armin Hilpold, president of Fiera Bolzano, “Over the years we have done everything possible to give Interpoma an international aspect, together with our partners and customers. At the end of the day, this element is crucial. However, the international character of Interpoma is also essential in the world of apples, where South Tyrol is a leader on the world market. Hence the decision for a new, internationally accessible digital format.”

“The COVID-19 crisis has proved that nothing can replace physical encounters when it comes to business relationships. However, it is in these particular times that our new hybrid event format enables us to remain active in the international business community and connect our exhibitors with their clients,” concluded Hilpold.

Interested readers are thus warmly invited to join Interpoma Connects 2020: Digital Days for the Apple Economy online and, where possible, the Interpoma Congress at Fiera Bolzano on Nov. 19 and 20. For more information, please visit https://www.interpoma.it.
