Apples (→)
New Zealand remains clearly dominant in the import segment, while South African arrivals have increased and Chilean volumes remain limited. New Zealand Royal Gala prices remained stable compared to last week, averaging ¥257 (18 kg), with #100/113s trading between ¥260 and ¥270 (18 kg), #110/120s around ¥250–260 (18 kg), and smaller #150s at approximately ¥240–250 (18 kg). South African Royal Beaut and Royal Gala have both declined in price as supply increased, with both varieties trading below 2023 and 2024 levels. At the retail level, New Zealand produce is widely available at major retailers, though careful monitoring of shelf life is advised.
Grapes (→)
The market is well supplied with a wide selection of origins and varieties. According to container openings in southern China, Australia accounted for approximately 30% of total volume in the last three weeks, while Chile represented 38%. Peruvian Sweet Globe prices have been rising since week 11, continuing this trend in week 14 with prices around ¥235–255 (7.3 kg, J/JJ). Chilean goods also increased but showed a wider price range than their Peruvian counterparts. South African Crimson prices increased this week and are now trading slightly firmer than last season, while Australian Crimson has remained stable and continues to follow the 2024 trendline.
Oranges (↓)
The United States and Egypt share the imported orange market, with the United States supplying high-value navels while Egypt caters to the Valencia market. U.S. navel prices remain firm at ¥440–460 (23 kg, #72/88s). Egyptian Valencia prices declined this week but remain ¥10–15 firmer than last season.
Pears (→)
The imported pear market continues to grow in China, though volumes remain relatively low compared to other key items. South African Cheeky (Cape Rose) is available at ¥210–220 (12.5 kg, #60/70s), alongside New Zealand Piqa Red and Chilean Flamingo.
Plums (↑)
D’Agen prices remained steady this week, maintaining their premium position at +70% compared to the previous season. Pink Delight and Sweet Mary prices have improved, with both varieties trading firmer than 2024 levels.
