Prepared for the future with FRUIT LOGISTICA

In an increasingly complex world, knowledge and expertise are the best basis for robust business planning and future-proof decisions. FRUIT LOGISTICA, the leading international fresh produce trade fair, provides invaluable assistance in preparing for the challenges ahead with its extensive professional supporting programme from 8-10 February 2017. All events will be simultaneously interpreted into German, English, French, Italian and Spanish.

The new FRUITNET WORLD OF FRESH IDEAS (FWOFI) event kicks off the programme on the day before FRUIT LOGISTICA. Video, audio and online polling create a multimedia experience that takes participants on an inspiring journey through the global supply chain. From the newest food retail trends to the latest developments in production, packaging, transport, and logistics, FRUITNET WORLD OF FRESH IDEAS presents key trends in the global fresh produce business and provides creative ideas to inspire better business decisions every day.

The international FRUTIC Symposium will also be held on the day before the trade fair. With more than 50 scientific presentations, the symposium offers an ideal platform for discussion and exchange among experts from science and academia and the fresh produce sector. This international scientific conference is being held for the first time in conjunction with FRUIT LOGISTICA and will spotlight innovations and new technologies to promote the quality and safety of fruit and vegetables. Scientists will also present their topics during the subsequent three days of the FRUIT LOGISTICA trade fair in the Fresh Produce Forum and the Future Lab.

The Fresh Produce Forum from 8-10 February 2017 presents nine one-hour sessions looking at the most urgent questions facing the industry today. Issues addressed include "Microbiology – caught between accuracy and overmeticulousness", "Germany – the ideal partner: innovative, safe and high-powered", and "Is the veggie trend a missed opportunity for fresh produce?".

The Future Lab on all three days of FRUIT LOGISTICA showcases innovative products, projects or potential solutions that will transform the fresh produce industry in the coming years or enable significant optimisation across the added-value chain. Ten topics are on the agenda, including "All clear on the holodeck? Augmented Reality at the POS", "The future's bright, the future is berries" and "To the last nook and cranny".

Logistics Hub is an event series presented by FRUIT LOGISTICA where producers, exporters and traders find the information they need to help them take the right logistical decisions for the transportation of their goods. Ten topics will be addressed, including "Shipping: Matching supply and demand", "Can rail offer a viable alternative to transport by sea?" and"Airfreight: New logistical solutions?".

The fresh produce trade depends on technology! Increasing automation has led to extremely rapid technological development in recent years. FRUIT LOGISTICA 2017 presents Tech Stage, an exclusive forum for machinery and technology that emphasises the importance of technical solutions for the industry. Eight exhibitors will present their solutions.
