Inventories Rise as China’s Garlic Harvest Season EndsChina’s 2018 garlic harvest season wrapped up at the end of August. Garlic production reached an estimated 10 million tons by the end the season with new garlic inventory of about 4 million tons—a record high that surpassesthe excessive storage volumes attained in 2008. Longyun Foods: A Look Inside a Modern Chinese Vegetable Grower/ProcesserNestled in a serene valley at a height of over 2,000 meters in western Yunnan province, Longyun was founded in 2004, mainly processing and exporting garlic and wild mushroom-based products, to Europe. Over the years, Longyun added more products, including fresh vegetables, slow-roasted tomatoes, frozen chargrilled vegetables.
