Taiwan Agriculture Week 2018 to showcase tech strengths and innovations

July 30, 2018

Taiwan Agriculture Week 2018, the only international exhibition held in Taiwan that features refined agriculture, will include exhibits under four themes this year: TFVE Food & Vegetable Show, AGRITECH Agriculture Technology Expo, TFEX Flower Expo, and TCCE Cold Chain Expo.

The event will be held at the same time with the 2018 Taiwan International Fisheries & Seafood Show in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan Nov 21-23 with a total of 400 exhibitors using 12,000 square meters of floor space in the exhibition expected to attract over 12,000 professionals from over 50 countries.

The 2017 event gained excellent results with exhibitors from 13 countries setting up 309 booths, which attracted 4,628 buyers and professionals from 17 countries around the world. According to the organizer, the event yielded fruitful results as it is expected to create US$15 million in business opportunities within one year.

Taiwan has three advantages. First, it has a temperate, subtropical, and tropical climate, a wide variety of crops, animal husbandry, and fisheries, and it has developed agricultural technologies for three climate zones with every crop one can expect. Second, Taiwan has talent and technology and has received international recognition for seed cultivation, variety improvement, animal vaccines, agricultural machinery, and aquaculture technologies, such as groupers. The government is actively integrating and planning marketing items, including vegetables, fruits, flowers, seedlings, and processed agricultural products.

It is also stepping up agrarian cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries and delivers turnkey solutions for fertilizer, agricultural materials, agricultural machinery, and greenhouse technologies. This year the exhibition zones will feature various themes, including value-added agricultural products and technologies, smart technologies in agriculture, a combination of renewable energy and agricultural facilities, and ornamental flowers. In addition to one-on-one purchase negotiations, professionals from Taiwan and abroad will also be invited to attend the International Forum on Food Safety and New Agriculture during the event. Under the plan, the organizer will offer travel subsidies of US$300 to 300 overseas buyers invited to take part in the event. It will also help set up online negotiations between buyers and exhibitors through the APP created by the organizer. Taiwan Agriculture Week is a platform to introduce Taiwan’s refined agriculture to buyers from around the world.

All local agricultural organizations and enterprises are invited to take part in the event.
