By October 2023, Zimbabwe had successfully completed its inaugural citrus shipments to China, with over 40 containers delivered by the end of the year.

Data provided by the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe reveal that bilateral trade between the two countries surged to a record high of $3.12 billion in 2023, marking a substantial 29.9% increase from the previous year. Within that period, Zimbabwe exported goods worth $1.71 billion to China while importing $1.41 billion worth of goods from China.
