USHBC To Exhibit at Asia Fruit Logistica 2023

The 2023 blueberry season in the United States is now reaching its conclusion, while fresh blueberries from western parts of the country are still finding their way to diverse overseas markets. This year’s Asia Fruit Logistica is poised to make its return to Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo on Sept. 6–8. Representatives from the U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council will present this season’s freshly harvested blueberries at the exhibition while unveiling the latest developments within the U.S. blueberry industry to a global audience, focusing on attendees from Asia.

Amid the swift growth of the Asian blueberry market, U.S. blueberries have secured market access to Vietnam, the Philippines and China since 2019. The USHBC has reportedly identified China, India, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and South Korea, among other Asian countries, as key target markets. Notably, exports of U.S. blueberries to Asia have demonstrated an upward trend in recent years.

The United States is renowned as the birthplace of commercial highbush blueberry cultivation and is a global leader in blueberry breeding and cultivation. The U.S. blueberry season begins in March in Florida and lasts through September. During this period, the main production regions gradually shift toward the west of the country.
