The Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (ASOEX) has announced two unique measures in support of China, its long-standing trading partner, during the coronavirus outbreak.
As of this week, the Chilean fruit industry intends to roll out a campaign focusing on encouraging the consumption of healthy fruit across mainland China.
This initiative will help remind Chinese consumers to include healthy and nutrient-packed Chilean fruits in their diet.
During this period, the industry will also propose a collaboration with local authorities with the objective of eventually donating fresh fruits from Chile to medical staff in China who are working hard to treat individuals affected by the coronavirus.
Through these planned activities, the industry hopes to contribute to improving the current situation by encouraging the healthy consumption of fruit during these difficult times.
From February until April, the campaign will be implemented through online television and across social media via key opinion leaders.
Consumers will be encouraged to add healthy fruits to their breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacking occasions and be reminded about the numerous health benefits that these fruits possess, especially their vitamin C, vitamin D and antioxidant contents.
The Chilean fruit industry is confident that the Chinese authorities will continue to bring the situation under control to ensure that day-to-day activities return to normal as quickly as possible.
